Sassy
When my brother graduated from Art school one of the guest speakers at the ceremony was one of the creators of Sassy magazine and was incredibly inspiring, giving us insight into the creation of the magazine and its eventual decent into commercialisation which contributed to its downfall.
I'm over the moon that Tavi is introducing a whole new group of people to Sassy magazine and how it empowered a generation of women in the the late 80's early 90's. I still think it's incredibly important to have a magazine that empowers young people to trust in their own ideas and beliefs as well as challenging them, so that they understand why they feel the way they do.
Asking questions and staying firm and resolute with the answers found, regardless of whether they are popular or expected by the wider community.
And in any case anyone who employs Thurston Moore to write an advice column is cool by me.

Rose Coloured Hair
A while ago I mentioned that I was thinking of dyeing my hair, well I finally got around to it... Even though I was going for a brighter pink, I'm kind of liking this pale rose colour, at least it's something different. I've been so busy lately its been ridiculous, and I've just been offered an internship at the magazine where I've been helping out, so now that I've taken that, new blog posts might become a bit sporadic, as if they weren't already.
I've been listening to alot of songs at the moment that remind me of a few years ago, little time capsules that instantly make me feel more confident and sure of where I'm going. For me music is the fastest way of conjuring up a feeling, I love being able to manipulate my mood at the touch of my ipod. Its the only way I've been surviving the early mornings I've had recently!

Run For Cover

Happy Monday, hope you had a great weekend, mine included political discussion on the future of America, a pole dancing showcase with electric dreams, rainy catch up coffee with an old friend in a bookshop refuge, and a madcap movie night. Kind of enjoying the rain now, at first I was all sad and and my coat was all damp with the deluge, but now Im feeling inspired and comfy holed up with my laptop by the heater!

Just Kids
I know I've already mentioned it here, but I'm still reading Patti Smith's book, 'Just Kids', I haven't had much time for reading lately, but every spare minute I delve back into this world.

Making Passes At Girls Who Wear Glasses

I have glasses for reading and I'm constantly forgetting to wear them, then once in a while I get a monstrous headache (or see photo's like this) which reminds me to, so then I wear them for a few days straight, and it starts all over again.
Since I wear them for like a week once a month half my friends have forgotten I even wear glasses by the time they're back on my face again,
in turn I have to explain all over again that yes, they're real and not just fashion frames.
I love how all these women are so proud of their specs, and have such confidence.
