Have a Good Weekend

Laze around and listen to good music, stay warm, drink tea, watch Inception for the third time, keep a look out for The Strokes, be nice to strangers and make your life worth living

Of Cabbages and Kings

On my Birthday two of my friends, without consulting each other brought me a bouquet of these gorgeous things, that kind of remind me of cabbages,
I totally dig them, a little bit Tim Burton and a Little bit Lewis Carroll, what could be better than literary flowers?

Shake It Off

That fringe, those legs, Pepe jeans chose well when they cast Alexa Chung in their new campaign. Theres nothing like black and white photography and this has a kind of retro feel and influence, like Francoise Hardy or Serge Gainsbourg might be just out of frame smoking a rollie and strumming a guitar.

Sassy

When my brother graduated from Art school one of the guest speakers at the ceremony was one of the creators of Sassy magazine and was incredibly inspiring, giving us insight into the creation of the magazine and its eventual decent into commercialisation which contributed to its downfall.
I'm over the moon that Tavi is introducing a whole new group of people to Sassy magazine and how it empowered a generation of women in the the late 80's early 90's. I still think it's incredibly important to have a magazine that empowers young people to trust in their own ideas and beliefs as well as challenging them, so that they understand why they feel the way they do.
Asking questions and staying firm and resolute with the answers found, regardless of whether they are popular or expected by the wider community.
And in any case anyone who employs Thurston Moore to write an advice column is cool by me.

Chase Angela

Been rewatching My So Called Life, man it was awesome,I Love the way Jordan Catalano leans, why aren't there any TV shows like this anymore? and my best friend bought me some Manic Panic hair dye for my birthday so I'm about to pull an Angela wish me luck.

Lula Girls

Harvey Nichols in London is currently home to the Lula pop up store, created to feel like you have walked into the pages of the magazine. With collaborations on dresses, shoes, lollypops and cupcakes, it's pretty much a Lula girls Dream.
I love this woman's outfit she wore to go see the pop up shop, from the brogues with socks, lavender skirt and side plait, to the boater hat. The fact that people can read the magazine and draw from it inspiration to apply to their day to day dressing just cements Lula's place as inspired whimsy in the form of a magazine
